I can't believe I finally have a blog!
Hi! My name is Suzanne. I am a mixed media artist and art instructor in Middle Tennessee. And I am so excited to begin a journey with the world to share my art beyond my friends, family, and amazing students! This first blog post coincides with the launch of my new website...both of which are long overdue.
I am so blessed to be known as an artist and art instructor. What began as a way to stay sane when my kids were toddlers (not working and too many episodes of any preschool TV show can turn anyone's brains to mush), my creative endeavors have become my passion. When my children were in pre-school, I would get the random request to work with someone's child or grandchild, or a group of individuals would want a fun teambuilding event...I really began to enjoy coming up with projects that I could share with others. To see my ideas embraced and interpreted by others was amazing! What started as sporadic lessons soon turned into being invited to teach at my daughter's dance studio as they began looking for creative arts opportunities beyond dance and music lessons. Over the last several years I have been welcomed into various studios and workrooms locally to share what I love with others. I have grown a wonderful group of humans that honor me by coming back for more of my creative time, again and again. It is humbling to have my classes be an activity my students choose to invest their time and resources in----we do have a good time, so I can say it is time well spent!
Look for my art at upcoming Middle Tennessee events!
Why do I want to blog...??
As I have explored the world of mixed media, I have grown in my confidence and abilities thanks to the amazing gift of information shared by other creatives! The discovery of a new tool, or the benefits of a particular medium; inspiring color combinations or an idea that sparked my own creative path... learning from so many wonderful people through magazines, blogs, videos; all have helped me so much over the years. If any of my musings or ways of approaching things can be of inspiration to others, it would be a wonderful, full-circle way to repeat the kindness of sharing common interests.
Thank you for visiting; check back soon!
As I embark on this new adventure of sharing my art beyond my local area, I hope to periodically offer various goings-on around my studio. I am blessed with regular classes, both in art journaling as well as stand-alone art pieces, which keep me very busy, so please bear with me as I find my stride with updating my website! Those interested in knowing more about upcoming events, and future blog posts, can subscribe. For now, thank you for your interest in my art!
